Endodontics is a field of dentistry concentrated on treating tooth pulp and periapical tissues illnesses.

Root canal treatment is recommended if there are tooth decay complications (big cavities), inflammation or inflammation or tooth pulp necrosis, or in case of tooth injury. It is also often done before prosthodontic restorations, such as crowns or bridges.

Endodontic treatments is composed of removal of ill tooth pulp (soft tissue containing blood and lymphatic vessels, and nerves), mechanical and chemical cleaning of the canal and filling it with appropriate materials. It requires great precision, so we use dental loupes and microscopes, as well advanced tools and devices. X-ray diagnostics is essential for endodontic treatment, we use RVG (digital high resolution x-ray picture) and CBCT (CT scan showing a 3D model of a tooth and surrounding tissues).

At Denta-Line we offer a full range of endodontic treatment by experienced specialists, who constantly broaden their qualifications.

We offer primary root canal treatment (when a tooth has never needed a procedure like this before) as well as secondary root canal treatment (in case of a failed previous therapy). We offer help with canal drainage, removal of broken tool, removal of crown-root inlay and perforation closure. In more difficult cases we use microchirurgical procedures such as a resection of apex of root – cutting of the tip of a root and removal of any inflammatory changes in the surrounding bone and root canal filling.

The experience of our dentists, specialized tools, modern materials and devices allow us to form a correct diagnosis and perform an appropriate, thorough treatment which is key to a therapeutical success and frequently lets us save a tooth.

Our clinic has innovative tools and devices to help us perform root canal treatment, such as:

Radiovisiography (RTG) Carestream 6100 and RTG Kodak 2200

Radiovisiography (RTG) Carestream 6100 and RTG Kodak 2200 are X-ray photographic devices, which produce a clear picture of the treated tooth. Usual procedure is to take photos before the treatment, after filling the root canal, and need be during the treatment. According to them the dentist can decide whether the treatment was done correctly. The device is connected to a specialized computer program, which allows the dentist to closely analyze a tooth on a monitor. RVG helps minimize the radiation dose while simultaneously providing higher quality imaging.

Computed tomography (CBCT) Carestream 9000 3D

Computed tomography (CBCT) Carestream 9000 3D is an advanced RTG diagnostic device producing a three dimensional image of a tooth and surrounding tissues. A specialized program allows the dentist to look into any space from any perspective.

Dental dam

Dental dam is a latex (or latex-free in case of an allergy) rubber which can isolate the treated tooth or teeth from the oral cavity environment. The teeth are then better protected from germs and saliva. The appointment is quicker, more efficient and safer (there’s no need to change fibrinous casts constantly), and there’s no risk of infection from the germs in saliva. The dental dam also protects the mucosa from substances used during a treatment. Another advantage of the dental dam is the betterment of visibility during a procedure by moving cheeks and the tongue away.

Leica microscope

Leica microscope allows the dentist to see details invisible to a naked eye, which makes the procedure more precise and exact. It allows the endodontist to find additional canals, precisely drain an obliterated (ingrained) root canal. It gives more control over the precision and tightness of the seal of the canal. It is also necessary to remove a broken tool.

X-Smart

X-Smart is a specialized endodontic micromotor for precise work in root canals. It makes treatment possible with mechanical tools with rotating and oscillating movements. This tool can shorten the time and increase the precision of the treatment.

Propex II Dentsply

Propex II Dentsply is a newest generation tool to electronically measure the length of a root canal. It is a necessary element of modern endodontic treatment procedure.

BeeFill

BeeFill is a root canal filling set using a method of thermoplastic vertical condensation of gutta-percha. This device makes the root canal filling a long-lasting tight seal without any discoloration.
